MarketingThe LIGHT Method: How I Help Practitioners Get Seen and Paid Well
The LIGHT Method is my five-stage methodology for counsellors, coaches, therapists, energy healers, service providers and consultants who want a practice that actually reflects who they are.
The LIGHT Method works on marketing strategy and the beliefs that shape it, through the lens of your own values.
That matters, because strategy alone tends to get abandoned the moment your beliefs pull you back to playing small. And mindset work alone fades when there's no clear plan to act on. When you work on both together, the change has somewhere to land.
When you apply the LIGHT Method, the result is a practice that's visible, priced well and built around who you actually are.
Why Do Talented Practitioners Struggle to Get Seen and Paid Well?
You're wonderful at the work. Marketing was just never part of the training.
You came into this work to help people, and the business side was largely left for you to figure out on your own.
What tends to happen is that practitioners try a tactic here, a strategy there, and when it doesn't stick, they conclude that marketing isn't for them. Or they do the inner work on confidence and visibility, and it shifts something, and then the week gets busy and the old patterns creep back in.
Most support addresses either the strategy or the beliefs. The LIGHT Method addresses both together, which is why the change actually holds.
What Is the LIGHT Method?
The LIGHT Method is the methodology underneath my From Strangers to Clients process. It's the structure that makes relationship-based marketing work for practitioners who've always found marketing a bit uncomfortable, a bit "not me."
L·I·G·H·T
Each letter stands for a stage: Locate, Interrupt, Ground, Harmonise, Translate. The stages build on each other. You don't start in the middle, and you don't skip to the tactics before you've cleared the ground.
It's designed for people who are good at what they do and want their marketing to reflect that, without performing a version of themselves that doesn't quite fit.
LLocateWhere Is Your Practice Leaking?
The first thing the Locate stage gives you is clarity. A specific picture of exactly where your practice needs attention.

Most practitioners I work with are trying to fix everything at once. They're posting more, tweaking their website, second-guessing their prices, chasing enquiries that go quiet. It's exhausting, and it doesn't move the needle because the effort is spread too thin.
Locate works like a diagnosis before a treatment plan. You find out whether the real gap is in visibility, pricing, converting enquiries into clients, or following up with people who've already shown interest. Once you know that, you've got something to work with.
The shift that comes from Locate is relief. You stop guessing. You know what to work on first, and everything that isn't that can wait.
If you want to see exactly where your practice is losing the right people before they ever reach out, this piece on the enquiries that seem promising but drain you is the place to start.
IInterruptWhat's Really Holding You Back?
Once you know where the gap is, the Interrupt stage helps you see what's been filling it.

Most practitioners carry beliefs about visibility, money and worth that they've never quite put into words. Things like "being seen is unsafe" or "charging more is greedy" or a conflict between wanting to help more people and what it means to put yourself forward to do that. These beliefs don't announce themselves. They just shape decisions steadily and consistently.
Naming them is what changes their grip. When you can see a belief clearly, it stops running in the background. You're no longer at the mercy of something you couldn't quite identify.
This stage doesn't require you to dig into your past or do anything that feels destabilising. What it gives you is visibility into your own patterns, and that visibility is where the real shift begins.
The beliefs running underneath your marketing matter as much as the marketing itself, and this post on confidence and self-limiting beliefs gets into what's worth looking at first.
GGroundHow Does Change Start to Feel Natural?
Insight on its own doesn't always stick. Most of us have had moments of clarity that faded by Thursday. The Ground stage is what makes the shift durable.

What Ground gives you is a new baseline. Showing up, sharing your work and charging what you're worth start to feel like normal things to do, things that come naturally. The change doesn't depend on willpower or a good week.
This matters enormously for practitioners, because your weeks aren't always good. Clients cancel, life happens, your energy varies. If your marketing confidence is fragile, it'll wobble when things get hard. Ground is what makes it solid.
By the time you've moved through this stage, you're not forcing yourself. You're just doing it, the way you do the other things in your practice that feel natural now and perhaps didn't at first.
HHarmoniseWhat Does an Offer That Fits You Look Like?
The Harmonise stage is where your offer, your prices and your words come into alignment with who you are and who your clients are.

A lot of practitioners are working with a version of their offer that they've borrowed from someone else's template or shaped around what they thought they were supposed to charge. It works, sort of, but it doesn't feel quite right. And when something doesn't feel right, it's hard to talk about it with confidence.
What Harmonise gives you is an offer you can stand behind. Prices that reflect your value and that you'll actually hold to. Words that sound like you when you say them, words that feel like a real conversation.
Marketing that comes from this place feels like an expression of who you are. That's when it stops being a performance and starts being a conversation.
The way you're wired shapes everything about how your marketing should work, and knowing your marketing personality makes that a lot clearer.
TTranslateHow Do You Keep It Going Without Willpower?
The final stage is where everything becomes sustainable.

Translate gives you simple, lean systems that keep your marketing moving on your busiest weeks. A content rhythm that works with your life. Emails that connect with the people who are already interested in what you do. A pricing structure you'll hold to because it's built around your values and reflects what you know your work is worth.
The systems are designed to be the minimum that works, shaped to fit the way you actually practise.
The result is that your marketing doesn't stop when you're tired or overwhelmed or in the middle of a full caseload. It keeps going, because it's designed to.
If you want to see what sustainable client-getting can actually look like in practice, this post on getting coaching clients without social media shows one way it plays out.
How Does LIGHT Fit With From Strangers to Clients?
My From Strangers to Clients process is based on my unique LIGHT methodology.
From Strangers to Clients is the relationship-based marketing process I teach. It's also the title of my best-selling book, and the name says exactly what it does.
The foundation of it is trust. The people you want to work with are strangers right now. They don't know you, and you don't know them. What the process shows you is how you build real trust with a complete stranger, so that by the time someone enquires, they're already warm, already interested and already a good fit.
That matters more in this work than in almost any other field. People don't book a counsellor, a coach or a healer on a whim. They book someone they trust with something personal. Trust is the whole thing.
From Strangers to Clients shows you the strategy you need to attract people you love working with. The LIGHT methodology ensures that, as you implement those strategies, your inner world and your outer work are aligned.
You can read the book and get a lot from it. Working through the LIGHT Method is how you make it yours.
Where Do You Start?
You start with Locate.
If you'd like a simple first look at where your marketing needs attention, the free Client Attraction Score is a good place to begin. It'll give you a clear picture of where your practice is strong and where it's leaking, so you're not guessing.
If you're ready to work through the full LIGHT Method with me, my Confident Prosperity programme is where that happens. It's designed for practitioners who are done with the guessing and want a clear, supported path to a practice that's visible, priced well and entirely theirs.

What is the LIGHT Method?
The LIGHT Method is my five-stage methodology built around the stages Locate, Interrupt, Ground, Harmonise and Translate. It works on marketing strategy and the beliefs that shape it, so the change actually holds.
Who is the LIGHT Method for?
It's for counsellors, coaches, therapists, energy healers, service providers and consultants. If you've tried tactics that didn't stick, or done inner work that faded because there was nothing concrete to act on, this is built for you. You're good at what you do. The LIGHT Method helps your practice reflect that, whether you're building from scratch or you've hit a plateau and you're not sure why.
Do I need to work on mindset before marketing?
No. The LIGHT Method works on both at the same time, which is rather the point.
How is the LIGHT Method different from a marketing course?
A marketing course gives you strategies. That's useful, and I'm not going to pretend otherwise. But here's the thing... knowing what to do and consistently doing it are two very different experiences, right? Most practitioners already know more than they're applying. What gets in the way is usually the beliefs and values running underneath, deciding which strategies feel possible and which ones get shelved. The LIGHT Method addresses those beliefs directly, alongside the strategy, so you're not just adding more information to the pile. You're actually changing what you do with it.
